Self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA)
Le port d’un ARI (Appareil Respiratoire Isolant) est une obligation dans de nombreux domaines où la sécurité et la santé des travailleurs est concernée (traitement de l’amiante, espace confiné, travaux de peinture etc.)
L’Art. L.321-8(1) du Code du travail prévoit l’obligation de formation à la sécurité et à la santé au travail axée sur le poste de travail. L’Art. L.321-8 (5) du Code du travail précise que les salariés sur poste à risque doivent suivre une formation appropriée complétée par une remise à niveau périodique de leurs connaissances en matière de sécurité et santé au travail
Objectives
- To allow personnel to work in polluted air in order to perform certain tasks safely
- Know the constraints related to the wearing of SCBA
- Learn to communicate with ARI
- Familiarize personnel with the use of SCBA for different missions (valve closure, rescue of persons, extinguishing ...)

Theory
- Risks related to the lack of oxygen
- Hazards related to areas with an unbreathable atmosphere
- Nomenclature of the devices
- Rules of use, checks before intervention, dressing procedure, routine maintenance
- Know how to manage materials, role of the work supervisor
- Psychological effects of wearing SCBA
Practice
- Knowledge test (MCQ)
- Control of knowledge by observation of behaviors during practical evolution

Be in possession of a valid medical certificate issued by an Occupational Health Physician stipulating the ability to wear SCBA
