Working safely in the presence of asbestos
Art. L.321-8(1) of the Labor Code provides for the obligation of occupational safety and health training focused on the workstation. Art. L.321-8 (5) of the French Labor Code specifies that employees working in hazardous positions must undergo appropriate training and periodic refresher courses in occupational health and safety.
The employer is required to provide appropriate training for all workers who are exposed or likely to be exposed to asbestos-containing dust. This training must be provided at regular intervals and at no cost to the workers. It must be provided before the start of any work involving exposure to asbestos (Art. 11bis of the GD of July 4, 2007).
